THANK YOU for a great meet and a great season!

Once again, thank you to all athletes, dedicated coaches, tireless meet officials, and supportive parents for a fine CYO track and field season, culminated by a great meet to end our CYO season!

A special thank you to all the MEET OFFICIALS who volunteered for the benefit of our runners week after week, especially at the Diocesan Meet, to set up, officiate events, judge the finish line, write ribbons, compile results and do all that is required to run a successful CYO Track and Field program. A special thank you to those who were responsible for areas at the meet: John Randazzo, Head Track Official and Boyd Fottrell, Head Field Event Official, and all those who gave much time and effort to make the meet special for the young runners!

Thank you to our host facilities - Logan High School and Granada High School for their hospitality in providing great facilities for our athletes to run.

Thank you to our section coordinators who "make it all happen": all season long: Claire Tryon, Tim Chavez (Diablo Valley); Herb Yarbrough, Sister Mary Denise Bourdet, PVBM, Leslie Robertson (Oakland/West Contra Costa); John Randazzo, Mark Worrell (Mission Valley).

Again this year, the track sections recognized the following for their dedicated service to young people in CYO Track: Carl Godkin (CTK); Darius Rodriguez (St. Paul); Karen Colbert (St. Jerome); Mark Lima (Our Lady of Guadalupe). A special recognition was awarded posthumously to the family of Mike Domingo from St. Mary for all his dedications and inspiration. Please continue to keep him and his family in your prayers.

We continue to remeber a quote from the great Jesse Owens who summed up the values of track and field to our young people: "Friends on the field of athletic competition are the real gold of track. Awards become corroded. Friends gather no dust." Thanks especially to our athletes, the young people of our church, for their continued and constant inspiration to us all!

See You in 2011 CYO Cross Country!
